The decision to begin therapy can be complex and difficult. Whether therapy is the first or last thing you’re trying after deciding that something needs to change, I want to commend you for taking steps to care for yourself in this way. Looking for the right therapist can be daunting. One of the most important things is to find someone that you feel safe and open with. I believe that healing and change happen most effectively in the context of authentic and caring relationships.

I'm Hannah Ashworth, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate based in Houston, Texas, and a proud member of The Therapy Collective. I specialize in providing compassionate, trauma-informed therapy to adolescents (14+) and adults across Texas through telehealth sessions.

My therapeutic approach is holistic and strengths-based, integrating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness practices. I believe that healing and change occur most effectively within authentic and caring relationships. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where clients can bring their whole, complex, and unique selves to our sessions.

I work with individuals navigating a variety of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Interpersonal, relational, and family difficulties

  • Identity exploration

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Attachment concerns

  • Unhelpful coping behaviors

  • Grief

  • Religious and spiritual trauma

  • Life adjustments and transitions

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Crisis Counseling cognate and worked in education for over eight years before transitioning into mental health counseling. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have gained experience in private practice, university counseling, and school settings. In addition to private practice, I work in an intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization program for eating disorder treatment.
